Matt and Emma met on a train headed for Spain, Together they form Emma Carroll Etc. Matt is organized and practical and likes to, “get sh*t done”. Emma is creative and messy but she works hard.
Emma, a Chicago native, studied design at Central St Martins and the London College of Fashion and spent a number of years working for London accessories designer Ally Capellino in addition to a long stint interning for print designer Neisha Crosland
Matt's background is in the non-profit sector and he is involved in documentary film production, he handles the 'business' side.
Having decided to head Stateside Emma is turning her formal training and industry knowledge toward her own designs, creating unique leather jewelry and accessories.
Drawing on traditional leather craft techniques combined with modern graphic styles, the designs combine simplicity, attention to detail and vibrant shots of color. Each piece is crafted by hand using the finest quality Italian leathers.
The designs are inspired by simple natural materials, bright colors, geometric shapes and patterns.
